THE death was announced today (17/12/2009) of Councillor Ray German, a long serving member of both Chatteris Town Council and Fenland District Council. He died peacefully in his sleep at his London Road, Chatteris home.

Thirty-six-year-old Satvant Singh Sahota, of Huntingdon Road, Warboys, was driving a Porsche when it left the B1040 and landed on its roof in a field on Sunday, September 20 2009. He later died in hospital.

MOTHER-of-two Fiona Crompton, who  was seen by million of viewers in a TV advertising campaign for Cancer Research, has lost her seven-year battle for life. Christopher Martin, 19, of Ramsey was with a group of friends in Field Road on 23rd August 09, near to the Slade Road footpath entrance, when he suddenly fell to the ground unconscious. He was taken by ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon but later died.

Mark Saywell, 47, was found at his home in Farcet Close on Saturday, July 11 by his wife, Dawn and daughter, China. His untimely death remains a mystery to his family who said the father of one was not ill and did not have any underlying health issues.

Loreto College student and former Colney Heath JMI pupil, Rachel Deradour, aged 15, was travelling as a passenger in a red Hyundai along the A4147 towards St Albans from Hemel Hempstead when it was in collision with another vehicle. The collision happened on Wednesday April 29, 2009 at 9pm. Rachel died at the scene.

Andrew Parker, 48, founder of Ramsey Glass, died suddenly on Friday April 3, 2009. He was playing in a five-a-side football tournament at Hinchingbrooke School with his three brothers, cousins, his son, Rory, and some friends when he collapsed and died.

Jake Gillen, 17, was found dead in Gaul Road, March, on Saturday 24th January 2009.

Head teacher, Neil Sears died on Tuesday 20th January 2009, at Meadowgate School after school hours. Mr Sears was 52 years of age and was pronounced dead at the scene following treatment from an ambulance crew and police.

Sarah Oldham died in hospital on Wednesday January 14, 2009 after the car she was travelling in came off the A142 a mile from Mepal Outdoor Centre at 8.15pm on Monday night. After hitting an electricity pylon, the green Citroen Saxo caught fire and ended up on its roof in a ditch.

Duncan Tulloch, 51, died in Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon on November 3. A post mortem examination revealed that injuries sustained during an assault up to a month earlier contributed to his death.

James Robert Norton, 21, of Camargue Drive, the driver of the Toyota, was killed. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 60-year-old man of Cape Lane, Emneth, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.
Fire crews from Wisbech and Dogsthorpe attended the collision and used specialist cutting equipment to release both casualties from the cars.

William Pleasants was found unconscious outside the Engine Shed nightclub, in Ropewalk, Lincoln, at around 1.30am on Saturday October 4, 2008. Police believe he may have been involved in an altercation inside the club before being restrained by door staff outside. He was taken to intensive care at Lincoln County Hospital but later died on Tuesday morning.

Anji Read, 33, from Eaton Socon and Lee Joseph, 35, from Godmanchester, died when their car crossed the westbound carriageway of the A428 and collided head-on with another car. The couple were travelling home after a day snowboarding at Milton Keynes.

Alex Gale, 12, from Sawtry died suddenly on September 4, 2008. Alex was a Year 8 pupil at Sawtry Community College. A statement from the school described Alex's death as sudden and said it had left everyone at the school saddened.

Alex Chilvers was killed in the early hours of Sunday, (June 22, 2008) in the centre of March. Alex was knocked down by a car in front of the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society in Broad Street at around 12.30am. He was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with serious injuries but died later that day.

Openly gay journalist and broadcaster David Self - who famously wrote the questions for ITV's Sale of the Century and who took part in one of the country's first civil ceremonies for gay couples - has died. Mr Self, 67, had been battling liver disease and cancer for sometime: his partner Majid Jawad described it as "not a nice death".

Carl Couzens, a football referee, died after suffering a severe asthma attack on Friday June 6, 2008. Carl, 36, who lived on the Westmill estate in Hitchin, had spent the evening out with a friend before he suffered the fatal attack.
